My home parish in the Archdiocese of Omaha is St. Rose of Lima in Genoa. It is a nice, small town parish in which I was Baptised, received first Reconciliation and Holy Communion as well as Confirmation. There are many memories there and at Sts. Peter and Paul-Krakow church, an ethnically Polish country parish near Genoa.

I always enjoyed serving at Mass and have felt a certain zeal for religion. I had entertained the idea of becoming a priest since my gradeschool years but I never really took it seriously. While attending school at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln I felt a renewed call to the Faith. The more and more I prayed, attended daily Mass, went to Confession and Adoration the more I felt called to the Priesthood. During one visit to Omaha, I wanted to go to daily Mass at the Cathedral and ended up going to an Ordination Mass. After this, I felt the message was clear. Not knowing exactly who to talk to, I first contacted Fr. Matya, the Vocations Director of Lincoln, who refered me to the Vocations Director of Omaha, and now here I am.

I have been in discernment for a couple years now and it has been exiting and challenging. I will be in my first year of Theology at Kenrick-Glennon Seminary, St. Louis, Missouri. To those who may be discerning a call to priesthood in the Archdiocese of Omaha.-----Pray. While not an original piece of advice or encouragement, it is certainly the most useful. Also, do your best to live a good Catholic life, in line with the Magisterium. If you feel that the Lord is calling you, work to discern that call.
