The NCCW programs are contained and carried out in the six committees known as the Commission System. Four of these commissions identify the societies “surrounding the lives” of every individual: CHURCH, COMMUNITY, FAMILY, INTERNATIONAL. Two more are added ORGANIZATIONAL SERVICES and LEGISLATIVE ADVOCACY. The Omaha Archdiocese also adds RURAL LIFE in connection with Farm Crisis.
Each ring of Council (National, Archdiocesan, Deanery, and Parish Affiliate) should have chairpersons for each of the commissions who are under the individual direction of the National Commission Chairs. Catholic Women in Council continue to educate themselves as they work with spiritual commitment, compassion, and justice in working to carry out the mission of their lives under these commission programs in the name of NCCW.
