Preaching proclaims the gospel, teaching explains the gospel, but healing experiences the gospel. Go visit someone who is sick or resides in a nursing home! Not only will you share the presence of God with another, but you will experience the healing of the gospel for yourself!

Independence is not a gospel value. Interdependence is! Help an older person in need and discover how much you need them to deepen your faith.

In most African cultures, elders are revered. It is said that when an elder dies, it is as if a library has been burned. Do we value and respect our elders for their wisdom? Do we seek the wealth of their life experiences?
Did you know that older people are often the providers, not just the recipients, of pastoral care? Visit with an older person. Their wisdom, courage and compassion are inspiring!
