Description of Ministry:
The Girls and Boys Town Center for Adolescent and Family Spirituality is dedicated to helping professionals and faith-based organizations make a positive impact on the spiritual and moral development of youth and families. Our programs and materials, designed to support both professionals and volunteers in ministry, integrate the three components of Girls and Boys Town’s research-based Model: teaching skills, building relationships and developing self-discipline. Our workshops provide participants with practical techniques and materials to help them serve youth and families more effectively.

 

Preferred Ministry Venue:
-Adult Workshops /Training - variety of formats available (1 hr, ½ day, 2 days, etc.). Will tailor for specific needs/requests.
-Youth presentations.
-Retreats for teens, adults, families.

 

Who’s Raising Your Child: Battling the Marketers for Your child’s Heart and Soul: This workshop offers timely advice and practical tools for parents on how to mitigate the effects of a materialistic culture and how to raise kids who care more about people and less about things. Presentations for adults.

Merchants of Cool (PBS Frontline): Who creates and markets popular teen culture? What do they control? How does this affect teens today? Presentations are available for both adults and teens.

Sex, Lies & Media Messages: What messages do teen media send about sexuality? How do kids discover what it means to be male and female? Learn how you can make popular media your friend and teaching partner, while helping kids develop critical thinking skills. Presentations are available for both adults and teens.
