Speaker Resources & Parenting Classes
A parent’s example is the best teacher for children. No matter what influences your child from outside the home, research still shows that parents are the key influence in a child’s development.
But television, movies, computers and dozens of media communicators expose your child to values and behaviors that are counter to Christian values and beliefs. There is no way to completely eliminate these influences from your child’s life, but you can set standards for the use of media in your home that help your children make good choices about what media they consume.
You can also set a good example by not allowing harmful or indecent media into your home for your own use. There are many valuable programs and resources about nature, the arts and sciences, public life and world history and geography that you can use to show the positive value of the media.
